Long Lake and Raquette Lake are both year-round playgrounds situated  in the Town of Long Lake, in Hamilton County, the 3rd largest county in the state with the smallest year-round population and not a single stoplight in the county!  Raquette Lake is a half hour drive east on the Route 28 corridor from Old Forge, while Long Lake, an hour from Old Forge,  is closer to Indian Lake and Tupper Lake (1/2 hour either way).

Boating, hiking, shopping, hunting, swimming, camping, fishing, birding, flying, geo-caching... the list goes on and it all happens here.   And history galore!   There are  more Great Camps located in Raquette Lake than anywhere else in the Adirondack Park- Sagamore, Pine Knot, Uncas, Echo, Bluff Point and North Point.   Much of Raquette Lake's Gilded Age history is chronicled at exhibits at the Adirondack Museum, including steamboating, railroading and Great Camps.

Unplug, unwind, and relax under a canopy of wilderness, and on the shorelines of our unspoiled lakes and rivers.  Our friendly folk are always ready to welcome you and make your vacation experience so memorable you'll come back year after year.

Long Lake and Raquette Lake offer exceptional value, quality and a variety of activities to enhance your Adirondack vacation experience.  You won't want to leave!

INDIAN LAKE

The Town of Indian Lake- comprised of Indian Lake, Blue Mountain Lake and Sabael- promises a memorable vacation in the heart of the Adirondack Park, a 6 million acre natural sanctuary of public and
private land, which stretches over nearly a third of New York State.

In the Spring, it's time for the rush of whitewater rafting, kayaking, discovering a trillium in bloom, casting a line, or seeing a whitetail fawn. Summer is filled with hiking, canoeing, fishing, boating, skiing, windsurfing and lots of time to relax and breathe the fresh air of this true wilderness. Plan to visit a museum and historical Adirondack landmarks. Go to a festival, and search for treasures in our shops and galleries.

BLUE MOUNTAIN LAKE

A tiny hamlet overlooking the island-studded lake of the same name and is itself overlooked by Blue Mountain. Geographically, it serves as the unofficial “heart” of the Adirondacks, with its location at the confluence of N.Y. routes 28 & 30 and within a two-hour drive of virtually all reaches of the Adirondack Park. For as small as the community of Blue Mountain Lake is, it is certainly one of the biggest cultural centers in the entire Adirondacks due to the presence here of the Adirondack Museum and the Adirondack Lakes Center For the Arts. The beauty and cultural offerings of Blue Mountain Lake has drawn many artisans and craftspeople to the area.
