Home Aide Services of the Central Adirondacks
"We are helping people remain in their own homes, living independently, for as long as possible."

HASCA, The Home Aide Service of the Central Adirondacks, Inc., came about as a result of a local AARP Chapter surveying the community re the need for a home aide service. 83% felt the need and by June of that year HASCA was born. HASCA is a non-profit licensed Home Care Service Agency that has served clients from Remsen to Raquette Lake over the past 30 years. Certified aides have worked thousands of hours, traveling hundreds of thousands of miles to care for their clients.

On any given day HASCA aides help individuals with personal care, light housekeeping, laundry, listening, grocery shopping, banking, meal preparation, This assistance helps many infirm and elderly people to remain in their homes rather than relocating to a relative?s home or a nursing home. Individuals receive care in one of two ways, either through a contract with surrounding counties or agencies or privately, and at a very affordable rate.

HASCA is a "bare bones" organization. We are a not-for-profit in the truest sense of the words.
Reimbursement from contracts and private pay do not begin to cover the costs of operation and annually, in mid-summer, HASCA conducts a fund drive which adds a few thousand dollars toward operating expenses.

HASCA has been fortunate to have the office located in a TOW building where our overhead is low. Many local groups, organizations and businesses recognize the need for constant financial assistance that allows HASCA to remain a viable. We are lucky that these afore mentioned run additional fund raisers, of one kind or another, annually to help HASCA's financial needs.

The aides who have previously or are currently employed are a certain kind of individual who genuinely love their jobs. These aides are reliable in 90 degree or -20 degree weather. They are compassionate and devoted people who do their jobs from the heart. HASCA's current aide roster includes 2 aides who have been employed by us for 20 and 17 years respectively.
